Governor Steve Beshear has directed the flags at state office buildings to be lowered to half-staff until sundown Friday, August 10 to honor the victims of the Wisconsin temple shooting.
The order follows President Obama's proclamation that U.S. flags be flown at half-staff at the White House and other federal buildings.
Governor Beshear says the shooting was an unnecessary act of violence, and the state stands to honor the victims.
He also says thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families.
The governor is encouraging individuals, businesses, and organizations to join the tribute.
