Flood Water Forces Changes on WKU Campus

"We probably got several gallons of water out of the building within about an hour or hour and fifteen minutes. Now you can at least walk into the office, even though it's still damp. We do have dryers and fans running," said Charlie Pride, Director of Student Activities.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Submerged roadways weren't the only rain related issues today. Western Kentucky University experienced a flood.

The ground floor of the Cravens Library was soaked with more than an inch and a half of water this morning. The building is temporarily housing the Student Activities office. The facility's staff arrived around six o'clock this morning and began pumping the water out of the building.

"We probably got several gallons of water out of the building within about an hour or hour and fifteen minutes. Now you can at least walk into the office, even though it's still damp. We do have dryers and fans running," said Charlie Pride, Director of Student Activities.

Maintenance teams will begin to remove mold once the facility completely dries. The Student Activities office will temporarily move to the Garret Ballroom until its permanent facility at the Student Union is complete.
