Former Youth Leader Sentenced to Five Years

Under an agreement reached in November, Hall pleaded guilty to possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and distribution of obscene matter to minors.

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A former youth leader at a central Kentucky church has been sentenced to five years in prison.

A judge handed down the sentence on Tuesday to 30-year-old Jonathan David Hall, who formerly served as a youth leader at the Danville campus of Southland Christian Church.

Under an agreement reached in November, Hall pleaded guilty to possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and distribution of obscene matter to minors. The charges involved sexual text messages and emails to four underage girls.

The agreement also calls for him to register as a sex offender.
