Fourth Hot Rods Player Suspended For Drugs
A fourth Hot Rods player has been suspended for 50 games.
Outfielder Josh Sale has tested positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine, the same substances that triggered positive tests for Ryan Brett, Charles Cononie, and Justin Woodall last week
In a statement released by the Tampa Bay Rays, Sale says in part, he believes his suspension is unwarranted and he did not take any banned substance.
Sale was hitting .264 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI at the time of his suspension.
The Rays drafted him in the first round of the 2010 draft.
Last week, Ryan Brett's agent, asserted his client's positive test was a result of taking adderall, a common form of medication for attention deficit disorder, and Brett believed he was taking a energy pill.
