GLASGOW, Ky (WBKO) -- UPDATE: Glasgow Police say John Amis of Glasgow has been taken into custody by law enforcement in Clermont County, Ohio.

Working on a tip received by an officer in Felicity, Ohio, multiple agencies worked to locate and arrest Amis.

Police say Amis has waived extradition and will be brought back to Barren County and served the warrant against him. Arrangements for extradition are being made at this time.

On June 16, around 1:30 in the afternoon, John W. Amis called 911.

En route to TJ Samson Hospital, Amis told dispatchers his 37-year-old wife, Lorine Labombard, was unresponsive, possibly due to a drug overdose.

After the couple arrived at the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead. Days later, an autopsy report showed overdose was not the cause of death.

The Barren County Coroner requested a detective from Glasgow Police.

"An autopsy was conducted at the Medical Examiners Office in Louisville, which ruled out an overdose as the cause of death, but rather blunt force trauma to her body," said Chief Guy Turcotte, Glasgow Police Department.

During today's press conference, police announced a felony warrant is active for John Amis.

"Charges of Murder-Domestic Violence and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The bail is set at $1,000,000," said Chief Guy Turcotte, Glasgow Police Department.

Police has not had contact with Amis since a couple days after his wife's death.

"Mr. Amis is known to have ties in the following areas, but not limited to, Florida, specifically in the Broward County, Coral Springs and West Palm Beach areas. Northern Kentucky, in the Florence, Covington and Newport areas. Ohio and here in Barren County," said Chief Guy Turcotte, Glasgow Police Department.

Police say Amis is six foot, three inches tall, weighing 245 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Police say he has several distinctive tattoos on his body.

"He has two tear drop tattoos below his right eye. A tattoo of “Nathan” on the right side of his neck, “Madison” on the left side of his neck, and “Chase” on the back of his neck. He has big stars on his shoulders and a tattoo across his stomach that says pimp," said Chief Guy Turcotte, Glasgow Police Department.
