GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) - They say it has been years in the making, and the public got a chance to check it out Thursday.
Glasgow Police held an official ribbon cutting and open house at their new headquarters on South Broadway. The police chief says the new building has been a long time coming. He says the spacious facility will better serve the community, now allowing residents with more privacy with a "citizens contact room."
"We can bring them into that room and talk about whatever they need to talk about in privacy. In our old police department we actually had to talk to them in the lobby so everybody was hearing their business," says Chief Guy Turcotte.
Chief Turcotte says the move was made quickly. The department gained control of the building on April 1 and they were working out of it by April 13.
