Just before noon Monday, December 5, deputies with the Barren County Sheriff Office were dispatched to the Hiseville community in reference to a burglary.

After arriving at the location and taking information, deputies were led to a nearby residence, where they made contact with the suspect, 49-year-old James A. Wade of Glasgow.

Deputies say after further investigation, Wade admitted to the burglary, and led deputies directly to the stolen items, at which time he was taken into custody. After being placed in the patrol car, Wade damaged the vehicle in order to escape and attempt to elude police custody.

The investigation also revealed other nearby properties and residences to have been damaged or broken into. Some Items have been recovered, as the investigation continues.

Deputy Ken Thomas arrested and charged Wade with first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot).

Wade was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
