Valentine's Day isn't just limited to chocolate or flowers. How about a round of golf? From Valentine's Day through Sunday, two Bowling Green city golf courses will be offering free golf for all ladies. Crosswinds and Paul Walker are the two courses offering the incentive. The city parks department says this is just one of their many initiatives to grow golf in the area.
"It's part of a broader scope initiative for us to grow golf. We want to do everything we can to compete for golfers. That's our mission, and that's what we're going to go out and aggressively do." said Brent Belcher of Bowling Green Parks & Recreation.
In the near future, the city parks department also plans to hold free youth clinics and adult lessons for golfers. They also plan to start a texting program including alerts on specials and programs.
