Golf Scramble Needing More Players

A golf scramble hosted by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services will be in Bowling Green tomorrow at the Crosswinds Golf Course, and they're hoping more people will sign up for it.

The proceeds benefit the Kentucky Employees Charitable Campaign, which includes the March of Dimes and Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky among others.

Four team of four people are signed up, but they can hold 15 teams.

"If you don't have somebody you can bring with you, we'll put you on a team and you'll get to know someone," said Mary Gaetz, from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. You don't have to be good at golf at all. For five dollars, which goes to the charities, we're going to sell some mulligans, which are like do-overs, and some throws. So if you get in a sand trap and you don't want to try to hit it out, just pitch it out."

Organizers said you can sign up at the golf course by 9:30 tomorrow morning for $50. The event starts at 10:30, and spectators are welcome. It's the seventh year for the scramble, but the first time it's been here.
