The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center is excited to
announce the addition of multi-platinum musician, Gordon Lightfoot, to their premier season line-up.
Lightfoot, who has been referred to as Canada’s greatest songwriter and internationally as a folk-rock legend, will perform at SKyPAC on Friday, September 28th at 7:30 p.m.
“We are thrilled that Gordon Lightfoot will take the SKyPAC stage during our Premier Season,” said SKyPAC Executive Director, Tom Tomlinson.
Lightfoot, who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June, 2012, is a Canadian singer-songwriter who achieved international success in folk, folk-rock, and country music, and has been
credited for helping define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s. Lightfoot's songs include “Sundown,” “Early Morning Rain”, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” and “Ribbon of Darkness”—a number one hit on the U.S. country charts.
His songs have been recorded by some of the world's most renowned recording artists, including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand, John Mellencamp, and Toby Keith.
