Gov. Steve Beshear came to Bowling Green to unveil the newly-branded and expanded Kentucky Innovation Network.
The network is a program of the Cabinet for Economic Development, and will expand the existing program to include 13 Innovation and Commercialization Center locations across Kentucky.
The program will now allow clients to have access to the expertise and assets at all 13 locations, not just their local ICC.
"And we're going to emphasize the network, not just each individual center, but the entire network of centers to help entrepreneurs and investors, and new start-up companies to really get up on their feet and create more jobs for Kentuckians," said Gov. Steve Beshear.
He made the announcement at WKU's innovation and commercialization center... where "Hitcents"... one of the start-up businesses assisted by the bowling green ICC is located.
Gov. Beshear said that programs like these are why Kentucky is ranked fifth in the nation for the rate of new company formation in the past decade.
