CADIZ, Ky. (AP) — A grand jury has charged a western Kentucky man with a slaying 5 years ago in Trigg County.
The Paducah Sun reports that Seth Hooks is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 9. He's charged with fatally shooting Harvey Choat at his home in 2008.
The case had become cold when a tip delivered to the Trigg County Sheriff's Department on Sept. 3 led to Hooks as the possible shooter. State police interviewed Hooks in the Daviess County Jail where he was being held on robbery and wanton endangerment charges stemming from an Owensboro bank robbery on Aug. 30.
Hooks pleaded not guilty in Trigg District Court on Tuesday.
Hooks remains in the Daviess County Jail, where he is also still faces the Owensboro charges.
