Ky Senator Wants to Legalize Guns in Bars

Schickel says he feels the current law restricts Kentuckians' Constitutional right to defend themselves and bear arms, and his bill would correct that.

FRANKFORT, Ky -- Currently, it is illegal in Kentucky to conceal and carry a loaded gun into a bar. But a Kentucky lawmaker is looking to change that.

State Senator John Schickel has introduced a bill that would allow those with a concealed carry permit to take a gun into any place that serves alcohol, including bars and restaurants -- as long as they are not drinking.

Schickel says he feels the current law restricts Kentuckians' Constitutional right to defend themselves and bear arms, and his bill would correct that.

The bill, called "Senate Bill 60", will be heard by a Senate committee on Tuesday.
