Guthrie has been one of a small group of GOP leaders mentioned as potential gubernatorial candidates. But he said in a statement Tuesday that he has decided to "keep his full attention on his congressional work."
The Bowling Green resident reported that he has raised more than $372,000 since April for his re-election bid next year, increasing his cash on hand to more than $1.1 million.
Guthrie said he's humbled by the number of people who urged him to run for governor. But he said he feels his time and energy would be best spent working to solve the financial and economic problems that the nation faces.
