The summer months can be some of the slowest times for blood donations with people busy with activities, such as vacations.
The local Bowling Green chapter of the American Red Cross held a Blood Drive Saturday at the Harley Davidson of Bowling Green.
Officials seemed pleased with the turnout, which included a local man who says he donates blood every six months.
"You never know you may be in an accident yourself and someday you may need the blood, or maybe a family member that needs blood so I would encourage everyone to give blood whenever the can," says Ray Boenig.
