Kentucky State Police say 33-year-old Sandra Hughes of Horse Cave was working as a caretaker, when she allegedly stole medication from the patient under her care.
Hughes was booked into the Hart County Jail, charged with abuse and neglect of an adult, and theft of a controlled substance. The charges are the result of a joint investigation between KSP Post 3 and Kentucky State Police Special Investigations.
Trooper Joel Huff is leading the investigation, assisted by Trooper Ronnie Reynolds and Kentucky State Police Special Investigations Detectives.
