Having Fun In The Mud, For A Good Cause

Updated: Sun 9:18 PM, Aug 26, 2012

Hundreds put their game faces on and gathered in the mud today for child abuse prevention.

The first annual Bowling Green Gauntlet is a mud run and obstacle course organized by Bowling Green Crossfit to support the Family Enrichment Center.

Some participants got creative in the mud, dressing in costume, while others attended in hopes of winning.

Organizers say either way everyone had fun and supported a great cause.

"This is the first year for it but it's going to be one of the biggest events we do. We are hoping to make over twenty five thousand dollars and we really haven't had a long time to plan for it it's just really something we wanted to do, it was unique, we wanted to bring it to Bowling Green," says Nickie Jones, Executive Director at the Family Enrichment Center.

Prizes were handed out to participants for cleanest, dirtiest, and best costume.
