LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The Kentucky-based head of a libertarian super PAC that spent more than $500,000 in a northern Kentucky congressional primary this year has entered a guilty plea to a DUI charge.

The Courier-Journal reported that 23-year-old Preston Bates will pay $669 in fines and have his driver's license suspended for 30 days. Bates' attorney entered the written plea Wednesday afternoon.

Louisville police arrested Bates, the executive director of Liberty for All, on July 3, 2011, after he backed his car into an iron fence. According to an arrest report, Bates would only tell officers his name and said that he was an "anarchist."

Bates and the group he runs spent the funds to help Thomas Massie win the Republican nomination for Congress in Kentucky's 4th District.
