BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- A new Kynect kiosk at the Barren River District Health Department aims to make signing up for health insurance under the Kentucky Health Exchange easier.
Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was in Bowling Green to take part in the opening of the kiosk on Tuesday and now it is up and running.
Governor Beshear says more than 11,000 applications are in the system for affordable healthcare.
Employees at the health department say it is a one stop shop to fill out your application for health insurance and the Medicaid expansion.
"We know that when our patients come in if they are interested in participating in this then we can refer them to the kiosk to actually fill out the application, and they can do it while their on their way out the door or while they are waiting," says Crissy Rowland with the Barren River District Health Department.
Rowland says they are also planning on having more kiosk installed throughout Bowling Green and Warren County.
