The American heart Association's annual fundraising event is this weekend.
Organizers say the 2013 South Central Kentucky Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart healthy living.
They say those still fighting cardiovascular diseases themselves will inspire others.
"Do not be discouraged to not come out on Saturday. The event is for everyone. It's free. We do encourage people to fundraise, but if that's not your cup of tea per se, come out, hear the message and become more educated. It could possibly save your life or someone that you love," said American Heart Association's Michelle Alloway.
The walk on Sept. 14 at Kereiakes Park will raise money for the American Heart Association.
