Henderson Co. Jail Employee Charged with Rape

HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. -- On Wednesday, Kentucky State Police say Detective Chris Baker charged Brittany L. Murch, 26, of Henderson, with two counts of Rape 3rd Degree and two counts of Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, both are class D felonies.

Troopers say the investigation was initiated by Kentucky State Police when authorities with the Henderson County Detention Center reported allegations of official misconduct with one of their employees.

KSP says it is alleged that Murch had inappropriate sexual relations with a state inmate housed at the facility back in August.

KSP says further investigation revealed Murch brought methamphetamine and alcoholic beverages in the detention center.

Murch is being held in the Henderson County Detention Center in Henderson.

The investigation in continuing.
