Students at a local school, were spreading holiday cheer to those in need today, as part of an annual service project.
The third and fourth graders at Holy Trinity Lutheran School didn't celebrate Christmas by exchanging gifts. Instead, they chose to do a project together that helps others.
This year one of the students Christen White, suggested they help the Salvation Army soup kitchen and the students voted.
"We chose salvation army, so we're here to serve people and wish them a Merry Christmas," said Holy Trinity Lutheran School Student Trinity Rose.
"We're glad we came today so we could meet some new people and make some new friends," said Holy Trinity Lutheran School Student Ava Johnson.
White's grandmother volunteers at the soup kitchen and it made her want to help, too.
At the kitchen, the students helped serve food, clean and prepare tables, and sang Christmas carols for those who came to eat.
