ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- The owners of a home-based Derby hat business are getting noticed for their appealing designs and reasonable prices.
The owners of Hataritaville, Terri Pfeiffer and John Thompsett, have been too busy in recent years to travel from Elizabethtown to attend the annual horse race.
Pfeiffer began decorating Derby hats after a customer at an art studio asked if they made them.
The News-Enterprise reports that one of their hat designs was worn to the Derby by Vicki Gunvalson of TV's "Real Housewives of Orange County."
Pfeiffer and Thompsett typically sell their hats for $80 or $100. Pfeiffer says she hopes to one day open a small store, but for now their business is doing just fine.
