Homecoming for A Local Wounded Soldier

Updated: Fri 6:33 PM, Jul 20, 2012

A local wounded soldier is getting a new home to help start a new life.

Sgt. JD Williams is a triple amputee, who was injured in an IED explosion in Afghanistan in 2010.

Organizers are preparing for a groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday for a house just off 31W near the Warren-Simpson county line.

Bennie Jones Construction is building the home for Sgt. Williams and his family.

He says they couldn't have done this without the community.

"This community, Bowling Green, Kentucky, it's pitch-in attitude, and how we come together to help someone, there are no words I can use to describe it," said Bennie Jones.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 Saturday morning at the site location.

Jones says they're still looking for "in kind" donations.

So if you would like to donate, just call Bennie Jones Construction at 270-842-4543.
