HINDMAN, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police say they are investigating after an eastern Kentucky homeowner shot a man who allegedly forced his way into the residence and began shooting.

Police say the homeowner shot Clyde Thomas early Saturday after Thomas broke a glass door to get into the Knott County home and fired several rounds.

Police say the homeowner, who wasn't identified, wasn't injured, but Thomas suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

The investigation is continuing.
