Fire Damages Home in Alvaton
Several fire units responded to a house on fire in Alvaton Saturday night.

Several fire units responded to a house on fire in Alvaton Saturday night.

It started around seven thirty at 3597 Claypool.

Units arrived on scene and found a fire in the attached garage of the home.

Officials say it started out as a chimney fire and spread burning the back of the house.

Fighters worked for more than an hour putting out the flames.

The owner of the home is said to be okay.

The house was a 1930's era one room school house.

It was than added on to and made in to a country store several years later.

It was then converted and added on to become a single family dwelling.

Plano Fire Department, Gott Fire Department, Woodburn Fire Department and the Medical Center EMS also responded to assist.
