Injury Accident Involving KSP Officer

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) -- Kentucky State Police say they responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Veterans Outer Loop and U.S. 68 that involved a KSP officer.

They say a preliminary investigation shows around 2:15 pm on Monday afternoon, Officer Brandon Ford was traveling northbound on Veterans Outer Loop in his state issued patrol car.

KSP says as Ford entered the intersection at US 68, a 1991 Chevy S10 being operated by Tony Blakey, 59 of Edmonton, also entered the intersection while traveling eastbound on US 68.

Ford's patrol car struck the Chevy S10 causing moderate damage to both vehicles.

Ford was transported to TJ Samson Hospital where he was later treated and released with minor injuries. Blakey refused treatment at the scene.

Officer Ford was on duty at the time of accident and the accident is still under investigation.
