Jail Charges 21 Inmates Who Fail Drug Tests

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP)-- Officials at a southern Kentucky jail have charged 21 inmates after they failed drug tests.

Investigators say the move sends a clear message that contraband drugs won't be tolerated behind bars.

Whitley County Detention Center Maj. Steve Lundy says an informant told police that Suboxone strips were smuggled into the jail. He says officials decided the best way to handle the situation was to test inmates for drugs and charge all those who came up positive.
