Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center Foundation Board
Chair, Vickie Renshaw, announced today the appointment of Jan Allan Zarr as SKyPAC’s new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Zarr comes to SKyPAC directly from the Topeka Performing Arts Center in Topeka, Kansas, but served as part of SKyPAC’s opening executive team from 2011–12.
His responsibilities included the Programming, Marketing, Ticketing and Production Departments. “I made many good friends in Bowling Green so it will be somewhat of a homecoming, and I am anxious to work with this talented staff again,” says Zarr. “With their assistance, I expect to hit the ground running and cannot wait to progress SKyPAC into one of the top Performing Art Centers in Kentucky.”
Prior to his tenure at SKyPAC, Zarr also served as the Executive Director and CEO at the Morrison Center (Boise State University, Boise, Idaho) and The Dunn Center (North Carolina Wesleyan College, Rocky Mount, N.C.).
Zarr’s career has been devoted to the arts through academics, community and professional theatre and serving the past two decades in an executive capacity for three performing art centers.
These experiences, along with his visionary leadership, knowledge of non-profit organizational structures and methodologies, have produced consistent measurable results.
“We are absolutely ecstatic to have Jan return to Bowling Green to lead the great team of SKyPAC,” says Foundation Board Chair Vickie Renshaw.
“His 20 years experience as Chief Executive Officer in
comparable markets shows measurable successes in fiscal responsibility, operational growth and programming—the perfect fit for SKyPAC’s future. His familiarity with the staff and their respect for him
will provide a seamless transition.”
