Judge Huddleston Announces Leave of Absence

BOWLING GREEN, Ky (WBKO) –According to Judge Huddleston, after an original diagnosis of pneumonia in October, she was diagnosed this week with a re-occurrence of cancer.

Chemotherapy will begin immediately with the goal to return to the bench by the first of 2014. Huddleston was treated for breast cancer in 2003 and has been in remission for 10 years.

“Thank you for your prayers and support at this difficult time,” said Judge Huddleston. “I look forward to returning to the bench in January and continuing to serve the citizens of Warren County for the remainder of my second term.”

Judge Huddleston has presided over the Warren County Circuit Family Court, Division III since her appointment by Governor Paul Patton in 1998, and subsequent election in 1999, and re-election in 2007. Huddleston will not seek re-election for a third term.

In addition to case management, Huddleston’s judicial administrative duties include serving on the Family Court Workflow Advisory Committee, Juvenile Justice Advisory Board’s Subcommittee on Equity and Justice for All Youths, and the Judicial Child Fatality Review Committee. Huddleston founded and serves on the Warren County Child Lethality Task Force.
