KSP Charges Powell Co. Man For Traveling To Meet Juvenile For Sex

 The subject was arrested when he traveled from his residence in Powell County to Richmond to meet someone he thought was a juvenile for the purpose of having sex.

RICHMOND, Ky (WBKO) On January 10, 2014, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crimes Branch, assisted by troopers from KSP Post 7 in Richmond, arrested William Scott Hall, 31, of Stanton, Ky., for charges related to traveling to meet an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old female for sex.

Hall was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. KSP began investigating the case after discovering a posting on a popular website.

The subject was arrested when he traveled from his residence in Powell County to Richmond to meet someone he thought was a juvenile for the purpose of having sex.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Hall's residence in the early morning hours of January 11, 2014.

Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

Hall is currently charged with one count of prohibited use of electronic communication system to procure a minor/peace officer for sex. Hall was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
