HODGENVILLE, Ky. -– Kentucky State Police say it received a call about an officer-involved shooting at an apartment located on S. Lincoln Boulevard in Hodgenville around 2:05 Sunday morning.
KSP says two Hodgenville officers attempted to serve arrest warrants on a man. After making contact with the subject of the warrants, troopers say an altercation ensued.
Troopers say one officer attempted to deploy his taser during the struggle, but it was ineffective.
KSP says the subject then grabbed a rifle and was subsequently shot multiple times.
He was immediately taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.
Neither Hodgenville officer was injured.
The names of the individuals involved have been withheld pending notification of family members.
