(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - As part of the “Operation Blue Lights” summer traffic enforcement campaign, Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green is asking drivers to take extra precautions when traveling on the roadways, and to have all of their appropriate paperwork with them.
“We will be utilizing road checks and other directed patrol during the 4th of July period, and we want drivers to make sure they have their license, insurance, and proof of registration with them,” commented Trooper Jonathan Biven, KSP Public Affairs Officer.
KSP Post 3 is also asking holiday travelers to make sure their automobiles are in proper operating condition which includes, but not limited to; oil change, correct tire pressure, working windshield wipers, and adequate fuel for their destination.
“As we celebrate the birth of this great nation, I want to remind citizens to be responsible this July 4th holiday when traveling on our roadways, and to be mindful of their surroundings if they choose to use fireworks as part of their celebration due to the lack of rainfall we have had this summer,” commented Captain Ricki Allen, Post 3 Commander.
