LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The Kentucky Lottery will begin selling tickets to its newest game next week.
The Courier-Journal reports keno tickets will be available beginning on Monday morning. The newest addition to lottery games in Kentucky is a casino-type game that will offer drawings every five minutes nearly around the clock.
However, it won't be offered everywhere. Of 2,800 outlets that sell lottery tickets, 200 have signed up to offer keno. In addition, the game will be offered at about 200 new outlets such as bars and restaurants that won't offer other lottery games.
Although anti-gambling groups have expressed concerns about the game, Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Arch Gleason says keno attracts better educated players who have more money to spend that traditional players.
