Kentucky Loses to Vanderbilt 64-48

NASHVILLE - In a game the Kentucky Wildcats really needed to win, they couldn't find a way to get the job done and lost to Vanderbilt 64-48 Friday night in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.

Kentucky will now have to wait and see if they make the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced Sunday.

The Wildcats did not have a good night shooting the ball from the field. They shot just 35 percent for the game and Archie Goodwin and Kyle Wiltjer were the only two players who scored double figures.

Vanderbilt on the other hand shot well all night. For the game they ended up shooting 50 percent, including almost 60 percent in the first half.

In the Wildcats locker room, guard Ryan Harrow was very emotional, blaming himself for the loss.

"I don't know we practiced hard and was prepared for this game. And we came out and I didn't do well and then it started to fade off to everyone else and it's my fault I shouldn't have done that."

If Kentucky fails to make the tournament it will be the first time that's happened since coach John Calipari took over in the 2009-2010 season.
