LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky has canceled its alumni charity game on Aug. 24 because several former key Wildcats are unavailable.
The school said in a release that former UK players DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis are participating with Team USA; John Wall has a commitment in China. The release also said the game was canceled out of respect to Indianapolis Pacers forward Paul George and players' unease over his leg injury sustained during camp earlier this month.
Kentucky coach John Calipari said in the release that while there were enough former Wildcats to field a team, "it was becoming increasingly difficult to secure enough members for the non-UK team."
