All Kentucky courthouses will be closed statewide and all court services will be unavailable Monday, August 6th.
This will be the first time since Kentucky's modern court system was formed in 1976.
The judicial branch must close courthouse doors to balance its budget.
Kentucky's Chief Justice Of The Supreme Court John Minton of Bowling Green says quote "Four years of implementing cuts is hollowing out our court system." and "Further financial choking will erode the capacity of the courts to carry out their constitutional duty... As an equal partner in state government."
The other two furlough days this year are September 4th and October 15th.
