A dismal jobs report was released this morning.
Last month employers created fewer jobs than expected.
The department of labor says the economy added 96,000 jobs in August.
The unemployment rate fell to 8.1% from 8.3% in July.
In a statement, Kentucky Congressman Ed Whitfield says "it is not just President Obama's economic policies that are failing... His over-regulation and anti-growth policies are having a negative impact on our already struggling economy."
Whitfield also says President Obama should be working with coal states to create and retain jobs, not stop economic growth and directly be responsible for miners losing their jobs.
