Kentucky Man Fatally Shot By Police After Stand Off At Dollar General

After a standoff that lasted several hours, Saylor allegedly became aggressive toward troopers. Authorities say troopers then fatally shot Saylor.

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police say troopers fatally shot an armed robbery suspect after an hours-long standoff.

Troopers responded to an armed robbery call at a Dollar General store in Harlan County on Friday. Authorities say warrants were issued for the arrest of Neil Saylor, who was suspected of brandishing a gun and demanding money in the store.

Authorities said Saylor had a handgun on him when he was found by troopers, but he refused to drop the weapon.

After a standoff that lasted several hours, Saylor allegedly became aggressive toward troopers. Authorities say troopers then fatally shot Saylor.

A Kentucky State Police Shoot Team is investigating the incident.
