Kentucky Man Sentenced in Jogger's Death

JAMESTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A judge has sentenced a south-central Kentucky man to life in prison without the possibility of parole for raping and strangling a pregnant jogger in 2012.

The prosecutor's office says Russell County Circuit Judge Vernon Miniard Jr. sentenced 30-year-old Christopher Allman of Jamestown on Tuesday. Allman pleaded guilty in April to murder, fetal homicide, kidnapping, first-degree robbery, rape, tampering with evidence and being a persistent felony offender.

The case involved the June 2012 death of 31-year-old Sarah Hart, who was about 10 weeks' pregnant with her fourth child. She was attacked after she decided to return to her car alone when she felt ill during an early-morning run along U.S. 127 with her sister.
