Kentucky Monthly held their August issue celebration at Chaney's Dairy Barn in Bowling Green, because of their famous ice cream.

Customers could sign up for s subscription the magazine as well as buy ice cream at a discounted price, buy one scoop get one free.

The magazine's August issue features a full length article about Chaney's.

Publishers say Chaney's popularity is what caught their attention.

"I mean when you talk about ice cream, Chaney's is the place to come. I mean there are people who travel here from all over the country and all over the state. There are people here today that we talked to from seven or eight different counties some of them not anywhere close to Bowling Green," says Steve Vest from Kentucky Weekly.

To fit in with the days ice cream theme, there was a reading of the new children's book called "The Ice Cream Hotel".
