ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has boosted Republicans in South Carolina at a fundraising barbecue in Anderson.
Paul spoke at U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan's annual "Faith and Freedom BBQ" fundraiser Monday. A spokesman for Duncan said 900 people attended.
Paul got the biggest applause for his criticism of U.S. foreign aid, telling the crowd it makes no sense to borrow money from China to send to Pakistan.
He says the United States should not send money to countries that hate America.
Paul says he has not decided whether to seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
