HOPKINSVILLE, KY. (AP) -- A western Kentucky plant has landed a contract through 2020 to make extra-wide parts airplane body parts for Airbus.
Plymouth Engineering Shapes in Hopkinsville is undergoing a $13 million expansion project to accommodate the new contract.
Plymouth's Aerospace Sales Manager Gary Ezell said the deal will produce gross revenues in excess of $100 million. Ezell told the Kentucky New Era (http://bit.ly/JoPMAG ) the plant is one of only four in the world making semi-finished titanium airframe extrusions.
Ezell said nearly every commercial aircraft flying today has some part from the Hopkinsville Plymouth plant.
Plymouth opened its Hopkinsville plant in 1981.
