Bowling Green, KY – The Board of Directors of the South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block today announced the selection of David Cisneros as Executive Director.
A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Cisneros comes to KOB following his recent retirement from Bowling Green Junior High, where he has served as a language arts teacher since 2009. Cisneros taught in the Carroll County school system from 2002 to 2008.
Cisneros has become a familiar face at KOB fundraisers over the summer, working alongside KOB staff and volunteers in last month’s Pound the Pavement and Twilight Thunder Cruise events. Cisneros this week is focusing on programming and planning for the new school year, said KOB Board Chair Johna Rodgers.
“David brings to KOB a unique set of skills – education, administration, and event coordination,” Rodgers said. “But what really struck us is his choice of Bowling Green as his home and his desire to make Bowling Green a great place for kids of all ages. He’s chosen to work with our Kids – the Puppets – to make sure young people in this community and throughout the state are able to make the right choices in tough situations.”
Cisneros holds a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from Eastern Kentucky University. He served various leadership roles in his military and teaching careers.
South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block is a puppet troupe bringing interactive educational programs on child sexual abuse, physical challenges, medical conditions, and social and safety issues to 20,000+ each year.
