KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office has charged a man with attempted murder after deputies say he shot a motorcyclist multiple times in an apparent road rage incident.

Deputies told media that the shooting happened on Monday afternoon, after 61-year-old Rodney Lee Scott cut off two motorcyclists, who then began to follow him.

Police said the motorcyclists followed Scott home, where he retrieved two guns and then began shooting at them.

Deputies say 23-year-old Tyler Lakin of Knoxville was hit three times in the back and once in the wrist. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Scott is being held at the Knox County Detention Facility on a $1 million bond. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
