FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Attorney General Jack Conway has filed a complaint against a propane gas provider in western Kentucky alleging violations of the state's Consumer Protection Act.
A statement says the complaint was filed Tuesday in Franklin Circuit Court against United Propane Gas Inc.
In addition, Conway said the court granted a restraining order that allows customers of UPG and it's 23 subsidiaries to get propane from another supplier.
The statement said the move came after farmers and residential customers complained about problems with either getting propane from UPG or getting a waiver from the company that allows them to get the gas from another supplier.
Conway said many propane suppliers are facing shortages right now, but they are either making partial deliveries or providing waivers to their customers.
