Ky. Man Dead After Struck By Train

A Central Kentucky man has died after being struck by a train.

The Coroner says 43-year-old Robert Alexander was walking on the tracks near Georgetown on Sunday night when a train came up behind him.

The train engineer sounded his emergency horn and tried to stop.

The engineer told police Alexander acknowledged the train and continued to walk on the tracks.

Police are unsure why this accident happened but they say alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.
