A central Kentucky man who has been a tattoo artist for 20 years will be a contestant on a reality television show pitting 16 artists against each other this fall.

"Ink Master" on Spike TV premieres at 10 p.m. EDT Oct. 9, but filming for this season took place in June and July in New York.

Tray "Big Daddy" Benham of Brandenburg in Meade County told the Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/RPI5KQ ) that his style is more "new school." He says he used to work more with black and gray but now is into colors. He has two shops, in Elizabethtown and Radcliff.

The 38-year-old Benham said he had planned to attend Murray State University but wound up taking a job with another artist instead.
