Ky. Woman Convicted In Fatal Crash Out Of Prison

BARDWELL, Ky. (AP) -- A former bus driver in western Kentucky has been released from prison about a month after being convicted of killing a 6-year-old boy in a fatal crash.

Attorney Will Kautz told WPSD-TV in Paducah (http://bit.ly/OPatFr ) that good behavior played a role in the decision to release Anita Roach. A judge sentenced Roach to a year in prison for reckless homicide stemming from the Carlisle County bus crash that killed Logan Simpson in 2011.

Kautz says Roach spent more than 200 days on home confinement leading up to her trial without any problems.

Roach spent 22 days in jail after being convicted on June 28.

Roach was driving a bus returning students to school after a field trip in May 2011. The crash also injured about 20 people.
