LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A Louisville woman has been charged with murder for the shooting death of another woman while police were investigating a pair of deaths up the street.

A Jefferson County grand jury on Thursday indicted 24-year-old Cheetara Goldsmith. The charge stems from the May 17 shooting death of Makeba Lee in the Parkland neighborhood.

The Courier-Journal reported (http://cjky.it/LOkGBe ) that the grand jury also charged Goldsmith with first-degree wanton endangerment stemming from the incident.

Police said Goldsmith shot Lee as police investigated a triple shooting yards away involving 24-year-old Tyson Mimms and 22-year-old Craig "C.J." Bland Jr. Both men died in the shooting, which remains under investigation.

Mimms is the father of Lee's child.

Police say an officer shot Goldsmith after turned the gun on the officer.
